The Holy Spirit gives gifts to believers so that the whole body of Christ may be strengthened. Spiritual gifts are not trophies proving that one person is more important, mature, or favored than another. They are expressions of God's grace entrusted to us for the purpose of serving others.
Every gift matters. Some gifts operate publicly, while others are expressed quietly and may receive little recognition. The person who teaches, the believer who encourages, the one who gives generously, and the one who serves behind the scenes all contribute to God's work when they act in faith.
Comparison distracts us from our assignment. It can make us proud of what we possess or ashamed that our contribution looks different from someone else's. Both responses turn our attention toward ourselves. God wisely distributes gifts according to His purposes, and He asks us to be faithful with what He has given.
Love must govern every spiritual gift. Power without love can wound people and misrepresent the heart of God. Knowledge without humility can create pride. When gifts operate through compassion, truth, order, and servanthood, the church is strengthened and Jesus receives the glory.
Spiritual gifts also require development. We grow through study, practice, correction, accountability, and obedience. Maturity teaches us when to speak, when to remain silent, and how to serve in ways that genuinely benefit others. A willing heart should remain joined to teachability and biblical wisdom.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize what He has entrusted to you. Refuse to bury it through fear or use it for self-promotion. Offer your abilities back to God and use them faithfully. The gift may come through you, but its intended blessing belongs to the whole community.

Am I using what God has given me to strengthen others, or have I buried it through fear, neglect, or comparison?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving gifts to Your people. Help me recognize and faithfully use what You have entrusted to me. Keep me humble, loving, teachable, and focused on strengthening others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
