The lasting evidence of revival is not found only in what happens during a powerful meeting. It is found in the kind of people we become afterward. Genuine encounters with God should produce visible transformation in our attitudes, reactions, priorities, habits, and relationships.
When the Holy Spirit works deeply within us, He produces the character of Jesus. Love replaces selfishness, joy strengthens us in difficulty, peace steadies anxious hearts, and patience changes our reactions. Kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control begin shaping the way we treat people.
Spiritual gifts may attract attention, but spiritual fruit reveals maturity. A person can be gifted publicly while remaining unhealthy privately. God desires both power and character. He wants our ministry to flow from lives that are being healed, disciplined, humbled, and conformed to Christ.
Fruit develops through abiding. A branch does not struggle to manufacture fruit independently; it bears fruit because it remains connected to the source of life. As we remain close to Jesus through prayer, Scripture, obedience, worship, and fellowship, His life becomes increasingly visible in us.
The fruit of revival should appear most clearly in relationships. If our spiritual experiences do not make us more loving, truthful, patient, forgiving, and humble, we need to invite God to examine us again. The people who live closest to us should benefit from what God is doing within us.
Fruit grows gradually, so do not become discouraged by the process. Continue yielding to the Spirit in ordinary moments. Every patient response, forgiven offense, resisted temptation, and act of kindness is evidence that God is at work. Lasting revival produces lives that continue resembling Jesus long after the excitement has passed.
