"Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?"
Revival begins when we recognize that human effort cannot produce spiritual life. Programs, conferences, activities, and carefully planned services may keep us busy, but only God can awaken a sleeping heart. Only He can restore our first love, renew our passion for holiness, and give us compassion for people who are far from Him.
We need revival when prayer becomes a routine rather than a relationship. We need revival when worship becomes something we observe instead of an offering we bring. We need revival when sin no longer grieves us, the condition of the lost no longer concerns us, and our desire for comfort becomes greater than our desire for God.
It is often easier to identify what is wrong with our churches, communities, or nations than to examine our own hearts. We can speak passionately about society's need for change while ignoring the pride, bitterness, compromise, or spiritual coldness within us. Yet revival begins when God's people humble themselves and say, "Lord, begin with me."
Revival is not merely increased emotion or excitement. It is God breathing new life into His people. It produces repentance, restored relationships, renewed prayer, hunger for Scripture, love for Jesus, and boldness in sharing the gospel. When genuine revival comes, people do not simply talk about an encounter with God; their lives demonstrate that they have been changed.
God has not lost His power. He is still able to awaken churches, restore families, deliver people from bondage, and transform communities. Let us not be satisfied with lifeless religion when God invites us into living fellowship with Him.
May our request for revival become more than an occasional prayer. May it become the continual cry of hearts that know only God can meet the deepest need of this generation.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal every area of spiritual dryness or compromise in your life. Confess what He shows you and invite Him to begin revival within you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we need revival. Awaken us from spiritual sleep and restore our first love for You. Forgive our complacency, compromise, and lack of concern for those who do not know You. Revive my heart and let Your transforming work spread through my family, church, and community. In Jesus' name, Amen.
